Detailed Itinerary of 3-Days Fez Desert Tour

Day 1: Drive from Fez to the Erg Chebbi Dunes

On the first day of your 3-Days Fez Desert tour, We will pick you up early in the morning from your Fez hotel and drive straight to our destination, the Erg Chebbi Dunes on the edge of the vast Sahara Desert.

You'll enjoy seeing the beautiful scenery shift as we move through various natural habitats along the way.

First, we'll travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains' alpine climate, which is rich in natural features like oak and cedar trees, lakes, and Barbary ape colonies.

We'll stop in Ifrane, the university town that's also known as Morocco's Switzerland.

Later, we'll arrive in Midelt, a provincial town where we'll have lunch. When we cross the mountains and reach the picturesque arid Ziz Valley, the air will become increasingly drier.
We'll soon be looking out over the Tafilalt Oasis, which is known for its palm groves, underground rivers, and typical mudbrick architecture.

We'll arrive at our destination, the Erg Chebbi Dunes, in a few minutes.

We'll end this exciting day with a late afternoon arrival in Merzouga, right on the edge of the desert, where we'll eat dinner and stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Explore the Sahara Desert

on the 2d day of the 3-Days Fez Desert Tour, Sleep in or get up early to watch the sunrise over the sand dunes, as we recommend. After breakfast, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the desert around Merzouga at your leisure. Visiting historical towns and palm groves around the Tafilalt Oasis (Rissani, Merzouga, Erfoud), taking a 4WD excursion into the desert to explore black volcanic rock formations and fossils, visiting a nomadic family living in a tent, riding quad bikes around the sand dunes, visiting Khamlia village to hear Gnawa music, or relaxing around the desert tents are all possible activities. We'll ride out on camelback in the late afternoon, once the heat of the day has subsided, to a Berber campsite in the middle of the sand dunes, far, far away from the worries of the world. Your Berber hosts will prepare traditional desert meals for you while explaining their culture to you. Spend the evening huddled around the campfire, exploring the desert, or lying on a sand dune gazing at the stars.

Day 3: Drive from the Erg Chebbi Dunes to Fez

on the 3d day of the 3-Days Fez Desert Tour and over the dunes of sand, We'll ride out of the desert on camelback to the town on the outskirts of the desert after a hearty breakfast. Before we begin the long drive back to Fez, you will have the opportunity to shower and refresh yourself in a hotel.
